Welcome to the new Ardley with Fewcott village hall website. Please email any comments and suggestions to info@ardleywithfewcottvillagehall.com. Thank you.

Established in the late 1960’s, the original purpose of the playing field was to provide “recreation and other leisure-time occupation in the interest of social welfare, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of Ardley with Fewcott”   It sounds a little dated now, but we believe it is as true today as it was then.

Of course, the facility has changed beyond all recognition since those early years.  Today, visitors are greeted by just over 6 acres of well tended playing fields, a modern children’s’ play area, plus ample off road parking and a large, modern, well equipped village hall.  We are also home to Ardley United Football Club, who play out of a purpose built sports pavilion.

Registered as a charity, and run by volunteers, the newly elected board of trustees are keen to see the facility play a central role in providing “recreation for all” for residents.  To help do that, and to secure its future, we believe it is also important to promote the hall to a wider audience as a venue for business meetings and family parties.  Along with keeping residents better informed, that is one of the main reasons for launching this web site.

Of course, these ambitious plans don’t just need money; they need lots of volunteers to help in a variety of ways.  Whether its helping raise funds, organising a coffee morning or simply donating a little time or money, we are launching “Friends of the Village Hall” as a way of highlighting ways in which people can help us make sure that the facility continues to thrive as it approaches its half century.
